Our lease was up for renewal that November, and we were discussing whether to stay or look for another place. Since we had both been working remotely for the last year and a half, the idea of going to someplace warmer than Virginia for a month during the winter popped up. Very quickly this grew from \u201cone place for a month\u201d to \u201cmultiple places for several months.\u201d Since we wanted to spend a full month in each place to really be able to feel what it\u2019s like to live there (without having to move there), we realized very quickly that we would need more than a few months.
